Dust in RCW 58: Clues to common envelope channel formation?

چکیده
ABSTRACT We present a characterization of the dust in Wolf–Rayet (WR) nebula RCW 58 around WN8h star WR 40 using archival infrared (IR) observations from WISE and Herschel radio ATCA. selected two clumps, free contamination material along line sight located towards southern regions 58, as representative general properties this nebula. Their optical, IR, are then modelled photoionization code cloudy, which calculates self-consistent spatial distribution gas properties. Two populations grains required to model IR SED: population small with sizes 0.002–0.01 $\mu$m, is found throughout large grains, up 0.9 further star. Moreover, clumps have very high dust-to-gas ratios, challenge for their origin. Our supports hypothesis that distributed ring-like structure rather than shell, we estimate mass ∼2.5 M⊙. This suggests progenitor was about $\approx 40^{+2}_{-3}$ The ring morphology, low nebular mass, grain size, ratio lead us propose has formed through common envelope channel, similar what been proposed M 1-67.

Dust to Dust : Evidence for Planet Formation ?
We discuss the properties of several circumstellar debris disk systems imaged with the Hubble Space Telescope’s Near Infrared Camera and Multi-Object Spectrometer in a survey of young stars with known far-IR excesses. These dusty disks around young (∼ 5–8 Myr) unembedded stars exhibit morphological anisotropies and other characteristics which are suggestive of recent or on-going planet formatio...
متن کاملOn the Formation and Evolution of Common Envelope Systems
We discuss the formation of a common envelope system following dynamically unstable mass transfer in a close binary, and the subsequent dynamical evolution and final fate of the envelope. We base our discussion on new three-dimensional hydrodynamic calculations that we have performed for a close binary system containing a 4M⊙ red giant with a 0.7M⊙ main-sequence star companion. The initial para...
متن کاملBlack Hole Formation via Hypercritical Accretion during Common Envelope Evolution
Neutron stars inspiralling into a stellar envelope can accrete at rates vastly exceeding the Eddington limit if the flow develops pressures high enough to allow neutrinos to radiate the released gravitational energy. It has been suggested that this hypercritical mode of accretion leads inevitably to the formation of stellar mass black holes during common envelope evolution. We study the hydrody...
متن کاملDwarf Galaxies: Important Clues to Galaxy Formation
The smallest dwarf galaxies are the most straight forward objects in which to study star formation processes on a galactic scale. They are typically single cell star forming entities, and as small potentials in orbit around a much larger one they are unlikely to accrete much (if any) extraneous matter during their lifetime (either intergalactic gas, or galaxies) because they will typically lose...
متن کاملSub-mm clues to elliptical galaxy formation
There is growing evidence that, at the S850μm < 1mJy level, the sub-mm galaxy population (and hence a potentially significant fraction of the sub-mm background) is associated with the star-forming Lyman-break population already detected at optical wavelengths. However, the implied star-formation rates in such objects (typically 3 − 30M⊙yr) fall one or two orders of magnitude short of the level ...
